ISO 50001

The Energy Management System compliant with the ISO 50001 norm helps oblige the company to control all the areas in sugar factories consuming or processing energy in any form.

The introduction of ISO 50001 allows looking in broader perspective at the energy management aspect, as well as a deeper, more condensed analysis of all energy streams occurring in the specifics of our industry. This is a kind of complement to existing activities focused on continuous improvement of energy efficiency. It also enables global look at the totality, that is, not only taking into account the technology, but also other areas of activity of our company. It is also worth mentioning here creating awareness of energy responsibility, e.g. through training.

Südzucker Polska S.A. obtained in 2006 the ISO 50001:2011 certificate for:

• manufacturing and sale of sugar and sugar-based products;
• purchase of materials and services affecting the health security of sugar production;
• sales and distribution of portioned food and non-food products;
• agricultural production and agricultural services.

All of the above processes refer to energy streams of fuel, heat and electricity. The certificate was granted to all locations of Südzucker Polska S.A.: Headquarters in Wrocław, Sales Office in Krakow, production plants: Cerekiew Sugar Plant, Ropczyce Sugar Plant, Strzelin Sugar Plant, Świdnica Sugar Plant as well as Agricultural Farm in Leniwno Brzeskie and Więcmierzyce.
