Even though regulations which provide for electronic invoicing have been in effect in the European Union for a couple of years now, a clear majority, i.e. more than 75%, of invoices are still sent in hard copy format.
The issuing and sending of electronic invoices with electronic signatures require significant modifications of the corporate accounting system, which translates into higher implementation costs for the electronic invoice issuer. Notwithstanding the above, guided by the need for transaction safety, we proposed to our customers this type of invoicing which ensures authenticity and integrity of invoice content.
It’s quick and easy, needs no printing, paper, envelopes or postal services and does not create pollution. For us, a food company which close to nature, this is of special importance. Corporate social responsibility is a significant element of the mission of Südzucker Polska S.A. Therefore, we actively support all initiatives which contribute to the preservation of natural resources and respect for the environment.
Electronic invoicing has been permitted in Poland by the applicable decree of the Minister of Finance, which specifies the detailed conditions for storing and sending of electronic invoices. Recent amendments have relaxed the requirements for electronic invoices, however, not as much as was expected by businesses. The key prerequisite remains the authenticity of origin and integrity of the invoice content. However, one advantage of such strict regulations is that they ensure that invoices issued and sent electronically are adequately protected and fully credible for business partners.
